Meet your Physiotherapist
In Flow Physiotherapy was founded by Rachel Mottin, a local Burdekin physiotherapist and mum of three, with a vision of creating a dedicated women's health physiotherapy clinic where women could access specialist care close to home and feel truly supported. With years of clinical experience and advanced training in women's and pelvic health, Rachel understands the unique challenges women face through every stage of life. Her approach combines evidence-based physiotherapy with genuine compassion, ensuring every woman feels heard, understood and empowered. From our warm, family-friendly clinic in Ayr, we support women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor health, pelvic pain, menopause and general musculoskeletal conditions. Our goal is simple, to help every woman understand her body, move with confidence and find her flow.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that assesses and treats the muscles, ligaments and connective tissues that support your bladder, bowel and reproductive organs. It can help with bladder leakage, bowel concerns, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related changes and postnatal recovery. At In Flow Physiotherapy, we provide gentle, evidence-based assessment and personalised treatment in a supportive, private environment.
-
No referral is required. You are welcome to book directly. We do accept GP referrals if you would like to claim through Medicare.
-
Your first appointment is a relaxed, private consultation where we'll take the time to listen to your concerns, discuss your symptoms and understand your goals. We'll complete a thorough assessment, which may include a pelvic floor assessment if appropriate and only with your informed consent. An internal examination is not always necessary and will always be discussed with you beforehand. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what's happening, a personalised treatment plan and practical advice to help you feel confident moving forward.

Yes. While we specialise in women’s health, we also provide care for men’s pelvic health concerns such as post-prostate surgery recovery, urgency and incontinence.

You don't need to wait until your six-week postnatal check to see a physiotherapist. If you're experiencing pelvic pain, back or neck pain, heaviness, bladder or bowel concerns, or simply have questions about your recovery, we can support you from as early as two weeks postpartum. Many women choose to book a postnatal physiotherapy assessment around six weeks after birth to assess their pelvic floor, abdominal muscles and overall recovery, and receive personalised guidance on returning to exercise safely. We also provide treatment for mastitis, a condition that can develop at any stage of breastfeeding. Early assessment and treatment can help relieve symptoms, reduce discomfort and support your breastfeeding journey.

Women's health physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that requires additional training in pelvic floor health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause and other pelvic health conditions. While general physiotherapists treat muscles, joints and movement throughout the body, a women's health physiotherapist has advanced knowledge of how the pelvic floor, core, hormones and life stages such as pregnancy and menopause affect your overall health and wellbeing. At In Flow Physiotherapy, we combine this specialist expertise with a holistic approach to help you move with confidence, reduce pain and feel supported through every stage of womanhood.
